Question by Jake: What other AC charger can i use for my credit card machine?
I was hoping that someone who is a little more tech/internet savvy than myself could tell me another option that I could use for a charger for my credit card machine that I may have laying around. It is a Nurit 8020 wiresless machine, but I cant find the size or specifications. I need a temporary AC adaptor until my new one arrives in the mail. Please list examples of Items that may use the same style for example the power chord for the cable box…Best answer:
Answer by TV guy
According to Verifone’s Web siteFor the Nurit 8000
Battery and Power
Rechargeable and replaceable internal
Lithium-ion battery
Input: 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz (0.8 A)
Output: 8.4 VDC at 1.0 ASo, any AC/DC power supply that gives you about 8.5 V and 1.A or more is OK.
Most likely a 9V supply will work as well, but if you can find 8.5 is even better.
Or just go to radio shack and buy a universal one(1A or more) – bring the device with you so that they can provide you with the correct power plug.Know better? Leave your own answer in the comments!

Question by nikkibob03: Is it illegal to copy a credit card on a copier?
Today at work our credit card machine stopped printing so we took a card, made a copy and wrote out a reciept. The card holder got completely bent out of shape and demanded the copy of his card back saying copying it is illegal. I thought it’d be OK because even a business owner’s reciept will have the card # on it. Does anyone know if it’s illegal to make a copy of a credit card?Best answer:

Question by mikeatx79: Having Digital Phone installed, 4 lines, alarm, credit card machine. Need Wiring Info?
Finally dropping the Telco and moving data and voice services to Time Warner…We have an old 4 Line AT&T Partner phone system (4 lines), an alarm and a credit card machine.
Line 1, 2 and 3 will go direct to the AT&T System. Line 4 with need to connect to the alarm, followed by the credit card machine and finally connect to the phone system.
What would be the best way to wire that so it makes sense to others and looks clean, proper, professional.
I can run network cable all day long, but get uncomfortable when I’m not just punching to a patch panel and rj45 jack.
I’ll be using a patch panel for our extensions. If it makes sense, I could use a patch panel for the 4 incoming lines as well.
Best answer:
Answer by Cableguy
The problem will be you alarm system it will require an RJ31x type connection. Don’t be scared what that means is the line has to run into the alarm pannell first into a rj31x jack then back out to the phone connection. As far as the credit card machine goes it just need to run a standard jack in front of the phone system but after the RJ31x
so if you running standard color codes you need to take the brown pair into the alarm to the RJ31x jack hook up to the red green then the output or return will be on the brown and slate wires brown will be tip slate will be ring return this to your punch down block take two leads from there one to the phone system one to the jack for the card readerWhat do you think? Question by Carolina_79: What is the name of the credit card machine that sales people use?
I was wondering what is the name or how do you call the credit card (swipe-tool) that some sales people use? Like those people that come to your business and try to sell you spa packages and they accept credit cards, Is like a machine-tool that allows you to copy the credit card when u place it on the back. Kind of what some nightclubs have when u pay at the entrance. But it is not the electronic one that u have to enter ur pin number, is the Manual one.If u can help me to find out more info like name and how much it cost, or if they charge u for transaccion, or where can I get this I will really appreciate that.
Thank you,

Usually its referred to as a merchant services terminal. Talk to your local bank about the services they offer. I know Chase Bank has a really good special going now. Something like a free terminal? I can’t remember the specifics.Add your own answer in the comments!

Question by Nevertrustgov: How to connect a wired credit card machine to my notebook (laptop)?
I use a cell connection for my notebook and I have a credit card machine (Ingenico 5100) that I would like to connect to it. My wireless connection uses a USB connection for the cell service, and I think there should be a way to do this easily, but I cannot figure it out. Seems to me that my wired connection should be able to be configured on my notebook to bridge the cell adapter and credit card machine. The Ingenico has a network cable and network capable.
