I need to get my new car registered at the end of this month with licenses plates. I have a feeling it’s going to be pretty expensive and I might not have enough until I get paid on the 5th to pay for everything, so does anyone know if most court houses accept credit cards or do they only accept checks and cash? Our business is expanding into the UK and would like to use a merchant service that can collect funds in Euros and transfer them to our accounts in dollars. Any idea of a service that can perform this function?

What is accounting cycle ? How the accounting transactions pass through various books of accounts before they get reflected in the final accounts ?

When I took accounting, we learned that credit card companies don’t reimburse merchants for the entire purchase price. Instead, they short the merchant a small cut that they keep for processing the transaction. In my classes, we used 2% for all cards.

But that was many years ago and in academia. In the real world right now, what is the merchant discount for the various credit cards (Visa, Master Card, AMEX, Discover)?

i am a merchant and i already have a cardnet (from LLOYDS TSB in the UK) to accept card payments. However, i rarely use the machine as sales are normally paid through cheque by our customers. the charges are, i find, very expensive. are there any cheaper options for me available? i know of paypal but does paypal only work over the internet? how about if i want to accept payment over the phone? are there any other cheaper alternatives you know of? thanks
