  • Mine sure didn’t. I had to apply for a replacement card. Oh, and by the way, a cell phone doesn’t like the washing machine either.

  • Happened to mine (washer and dryer), and worked for months after that, with no major problem.
Possible problems may come from the electromagnetic fields generated by the machine, more than contact with water. That is why I think that magnetic track cards are more sensitive to this problem than chip cards.

  • Magnetic strip probably doesn’t work, but a merchant can always manually key in the card number. Get a new card.

  • Now, that is another aspect. There is a good chance that the detergent used in a wasking machine might attack the binding agent used to make the magnetic strip. Moreover, all that tumbling around, and the hot water, could make the card itself warped.
My sugestiong is thus that you do try it. Empty your pockets before putting your clothes in the washer.

  • mine did….

  • brilliant brown from IC

    yes

No, because when the credit card falls on the washing machine signatures behind it wil be washed out under the impact of the water.

  • Yea, unless your washing machine is full of magnets
