Question by Bert p: how to cancel a non-cancellable credit card machine debt?
when I signed this contract the salesman told me I had a 30 days grace period, but when I tried to cancel it they told me there is not such 30 days trial, The salesman lied to me in order to make the sale, now I am stuck with a 2200 dollars debt, they also told me salesmen work under other company and don’t have any control of what they do. Who do I need to see in order to take care of it without messing up my credit? a lawyer? what kind of lawyer? a credit advisor? is there any law that will protect me from these crooks ans liars? please help me.Best answer:

Question by daysimps: Best Buy ATM/Credit Card machine?
Last month I paid my Best Buy card off at an in-store Best Buy “ATM” (don’t know what else to call it). It only takes cash. I KNOW I paid a few days earlier than the due date but they charged me $ 39 for a late fee!I can’t find my receipt that shows when I paid it. I’m looking through my records but I can’t find it. I normally don’t throw things like that out.
Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like so I have an idea of what to look for? I get excited thinking I found it whenever I find a B.B. receipt.
Thanks.
They did get my payment, I paid $ 40. Since they charged me $ 39 for the late fee, I basically paid for nothing. If I can find the receipt that shows I paid in advance, and if it was enough time for them to have processed my payment, how would I go about reporting a mischarge?
What should I do if I can’t find it?

Answer by Reena
Call them up and ask whether they received that payment you made last month.Paying a “few” days before the bill is due is very dangerous with Credit Card Co. – even if you do it at one of those machines.
Because they will not immediately process your payment and the few days you gave them to apply your payment may have not been enough.
In other words… they probably got your money but applied it to the account after the due date. Which puts you past the due date and allows them to charge you a late fee.Call the number for billing questions on your statement… I bet you anything that they have the money applied to the next bill.

Credit/Debit card swipe machine at work has too many horizontal lines. What causes that? How to clear it up?

These horizontal lines are a result of the display failing. This sort of failure is characteristic of a Passive Matrix LCD panel. There is really no easy way to repair this other than replacing the screen (if that’s even possible), so I would suggest replacing the machine (unless you know somewhere that will service it for less than the cost of a new machine). Next time, look for a machine with an Active Matrix LCD. They tend to be a little more resilient (if a little more power hungry) and they don’t suffer from this type of failure.Know better? Question by K H: I’m looking for a credit card machine.?
I am trying to help a friend out whom owns their own plumbing & heating business, to look for some type of way for them to accept credit cards over the phone or by mail if they decide to pay that way. I’ve never done this and their a home based operation so we’re wondering if anyone has any experience or suggestions for this like who to go through or how much it typically costs.Best answer:
Answer by fmdynamics@att.net
This can be accomplished and is very easy to do. The most efficient way to have this done is to have them open their own merchant account. A merchant account gives you the ability to take credit and debit cards. This can been done in 2 ways. One with a terminal or a web based application. A terminal is a little credit card machine that is placed in their home. When a customer calls in with a payment, they punch the info into the terminal and receive their funds in about 1-2 days. A web based application works the same way except instead of a terminal they would log into a web site and put the info in. Being in the industry myself for 10 years, I would recommend a terminal. It is easier to use and has less cost. The cost depends on many factors. Such as how much volume they do in a month, what the avg. sale is, etc. However for a company like this it would normally cost somewhere around 1.90% per transaction. So to give you an idea about $ 1.90 for every $ 100.00 they bring in. This might be a little more or a little less depending on the factors stated above. If you are looking for a company to work with I would tell you to get in touch with a merchant services company. A merchant service company is a company that handles all types of electronic payment. Credit, debit, checks, ACH and so on. Most people think to go to their local bank, do not go to a bank, their rates are always higher.
When looking for a company to use, make sure the person you talk to takes the time you need. Any company that spends 4-5 mins with you and they ask you to sign up is not a company you want to do business with. Hope this helped. If you would like any more info or can not find a company you like to work with, you can email me directly through my profile and I would be more than happy to help you.

There are a couple of difeerent options for wireless credit card machines. There are some that look like a normal credit card machine with an attached printer, but they are expensive. There are others that are a cell phone with a credit card reader on the side and a seperate printer for your belt or pocket. The printer works some what like blue tooth technology. There is no cord from phone to printer. It allows you to put the phone in your pocket. It is much smaller and ideal for service oriented companies (plumbers, construction, pest control, etc…)
They both come with an additional cost for the wireless carrier to process the transactions through their network. SO expect to pay about $ 25 -$ 35 more per month compared to a dial up lanline terminal.
There is a company that I know that has both options available:
