  • It’s stealing your identity.

  • It usually means that the processing system is busy with many other transactions at the same time.

  • Speed has to do with the connections :) Most businesses run their CC machine of a secondary line so that it is generally open (no calls) but they can be busy so could their processor, visa/master card system busy and then your bank. Every CC authorization runs through a minimum of 4 computer networks and then back, I am amazed it can be done in the speed it is :)

  • there could be a lot of reason why it happened. the machine might be infected with a malicious worm or you had not paid your credit card debts.
